In our state they have a holiday called pioneer day. We don't celebrate it except it is an excuse to take the kids to a parade (which I hate) and put off fireworks one more time before summer ends. It was really windy last night. Hmm. Maybe not the best time to light something on fire.
Oh my goodness - this is so great! Our mailman (and neighbor) is from Utah and he was born on Pioneer Day and his mom used to tell him the parade and everything were for him!! So now every year my mom tries to make some big deal on Pioneer Day for him - I can't believe I found this on your blog :-)
