Bridal Shower...

Bridal showers are funny things...

Especially for a young lady who doesn't like to be the center of attention....

Mostly for a young lady who is embarrassed easily and doesn't like to open presents in front of people!

Although, this was the only morning I didn't have to drag the young woman out of bed kicking and screaming!

We had some of the most amazing treats!  If any of my readers are men, and you have been wondering what we do at these strange gatherings of women...

We eat baby!

... cuz you men aren't around...

I love this story...

We were preparing food and decorations and Galen's grandmother pulled out a couple of beautiful glass bowls...

You can see one of them in the background of the photo below.

The bowl with the green and white glass.

She said, "I thought this would be a nice addition.  These are from my bridal shower 48 years ago!"
I loved it!

History...
Family...
Tradition...

Loving it!!!!

Laura and I worked on the wonderfully amazing center pieces that you see below...

Aren't we talented!

This is the prep crew...

Cadi, Galen's grandmother Char, Galen's mom Laura... and me, behind the camera.

There is something very telling when you stand in a room with other women and they talk about God and prayer and serving others...

You know your daughter is joining a great family (even though we have known this family for years, it is comforting to be reminded that they share your intense love for Jesus!)

I guess she can get away with sampling the chocolate from the chocolate covered strawberries... since she is the bride and all...

I thought Cadi might have a heart attack when the time came for opening presents.

She pulled it off well and received some amazing gifts!

The funniest gift... wasn't funny because of the gift inside the box... it was hilarious because Grandma Carol had to hand make the box and used a gift bag to wrap the present... and when the bag wasn't quite big enough, she pulled out some Christmas tulle and decorative flowers and made us all laugh when she told us about the struggle to wrap this present!

The tulle came in hand later when we made it into a veil...

Yep...

We eat!

This was when Cadi became very, very afraid of opening presents...

Of course it was her own family she was nervous about...

She knows us too well!

However, she had nothing to fear...

Well... not really!

I loved the beautiful oversized tea cup that Galen's grandmother bought for the occasion.

Everything was so beautiful!

Laura, you did such a great job!

Thank you for being such a gracious host...

... and for making my girl smile!

It is such a joy when you know the family she is joining...

already loves her!
