Back in School...

For our family, back to school means many things.

Usually we are gearing up for a wonderful year of homeschooling.
However, due to reasons I won't share with you all, my kiddos are heading to public school.

What does that mean?

Well, it means waking up to an alarm.
It means buying school supplies.
It means... backpacks.

The kids don't care either way.
They love being homeschooled, but they enjoy going to school with other kids as well.

I struggled.

There may have been a tear or two shed.
But in the end, we do want to give it a try this year.
We can always bring them home if needed.

So, this morning it was up and at 'em.
Some took it in stride.
Others were basket cases.
My hair.
My clothes.
My hair.

For those of you who know my kiddos personally, I am sure you can make a pretty good guess who was freaking out... lol.

Lily is heading off to kindergarten.
Wow!
She was excited and ready for anything!

I couldn't leave these two out.
They will be doing preschool at home this year... again.

Awww...
ummm....

Hey!
Bry stop choking your sister!
Seriously, people, it happened!

What a bunch of goof balls!

I hope that your family is having a great first day...
Whatever way you choose to educate.

  1. We have a set of twins that ended up going to public school last year for varying reasons. This year they will be home again. In general, we do a mix of schooling...when the kids hit high school age we evaluate what we think the best course would be, continue at home or go out to school. As of this year, we have two that are high school age, a freshman and a senior, and we decided that they would both will be going to a Catholic high school. We'll evaluate this again next summer to see if it still makes sense for the younger one to continue there. I hope everything works out well for you and your kids this school season...I know you'll enjoy the ones that you still have a home.
